Horse Therapy Helps People With Disabilities
June 11, 2006 - Horses can provide much needed therapy to people with disabilities. A riding program in Lake County started five years ago with just 20 riders and now serves over 160 children and adults.
Each rider at the Equestrian Connection benefits in different ways from the horses. The program helps people with disabilities take control of their lives.
Twice a week Marie Polinski drives from Evanston to Lake Forest where Equestrian Connection is located. Marie was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1988.
